New York Public Adjuster Prelicensing (40-Hour)

This 40-hour internet self-study prelicensing course is prepared for New York State Department of Financial Services (NY DFS) provider registration and course approval under NYIL Article 21 and 11 NYCRR Part 33. Enrollment, payment, certificates, completion reporting, and any New York prelicensing-credit claims remain closed until written NY DFS approval is on file.

Audience

New York Public Adjuster candidates

After NY DFS approval, this course is intended for New York resident producer candidates pursuing the Public Adjuster license. Until written approval is posted, students who need credit must use a provider already accepted by NY DFS.

Certificates

No New York credit before written approval

Certificate templates, completion-reporting workflows, and Sircon-style export controls are staged, but official certificates, completion reporting, and any New York prelicensing-credit claim stay disabled until written NY DFS approval is received and the course is intentionally opened. NYIL § 2102 prohibits acting as an insurance producer in New York for compensation without an active NY DFS-issued license.

40-hour DFS credit-hour package, 6 sequential lessons

Delivery follows the 11 NYCRR Part 33 internet self-study structure: sequential lessons, active seat-time tracking on every lesson, identity verification, embedded knowledge checks, final-exam affidavit, and a randomized 100-question proctored final with 70% passing score per NY DFS prelicensing standards.

What must happen before launch

Qualified insurance subject-matter review of New York law cards, rationales, examples, and final exam alignment
NY DFS provider registration under NYIL Article 21 before any course filing
Written NY DFS course approval before checkout, enrollment, certificates, reporting, or credit claims
Planned post-approval tuition: $149.99 planned after NY DFS approval
Candidates must verify current PSI New York Candidate Information Bulletin parameters (question count, time limit, scoring rules) on test day; the current bulletin always controls
