Ohio Surety Bail Bond Prelicensing (20-Hour)

This 20-hour Surety Bail Bond prelicensing course is a CONDITIONAL build, staged after the OH Life + A&H, Property + Casualty, and Personal Lines courses are revenue-positive. The course shell is in place; manuscript content is pending owner build-out from ORC 3905.83-3905.93 and ORC Chapter 2937. Enrollment, payment, certificates, completion reporting, and any Ohio prelicensing-credit claim remain closed until written ODI provider authorization, the additional $50 Surety + Bail Bonds subject-category payment, and course-specific written approval are all on file.

Audience

Ohio Surety Bail Bond Agent license candidates

After OH DOI approval and full manuscript build, this course is intended for Ohio resident producer candidates pursuing the Surety Bail Bond Agent line of authority. Bail enforcement / recovery activity (so-called bounty hunter work) is governed by separate Ohio law and constitutional limits; this prelicensing course does NOT authorize bail recovery activity. Until written approval is posted, students who need credit must use a provider already authorized by ODI.

Certificates

No Ohio credit before written approval and manuscript completion

Certificate templates and ODI Gateway-style export controls are staged, but official certificates, completion reporting, and any Ohio prelicensing-credit claim stay disabled until written ODI provider authorization, course-specific written approval, and the full manuscript build are complete. ORC 3905.01 et seq. prohibits acting as an Ohio insurance agent without an active ODI-issued license.

20-hour Ohio DOI Surety Bail Bond package — 8 sequential lessons covering ORC 3905.83 through 3905.93, ORC Chapter 3929 surety insurer authorization, ORC Chapter 2937 bail in criminal cases, Ohio Crim.R. 46, Ohio Sup.R. 5/46 bail schedules, ORC 2713.22 surrender authority, OAC 3901-1-65 trust account and recordkeeping, and Fourth Amendment constitutional limits

Delivery follows the OAC 3901-5-07(F) internet self-study structure: sequential lessons with forced progression, active seat-time tracking, identity verification, embedded knowledge checks, final-exam affidavit, and a randomized 75-question course final exam with 70% passing score drawn from a 500-item bank anchored to primary Ohio statutory and case-law sources.
