Course purpose
The District of Columbia's initial long-term care producer training required before soliciting, selling, or negotiating long-term care insurance (DCMR Title 26-A, Chapter 26). It teaches LTC fundamentals and benefit design; the federal tax-qualified standard; suitability, underwriting, inflation protection, and replacement; and the required training topics. It covers the federal Qualified State LTC Partnership framework as a required training topic and explains accurately that the District of Columbia does not currently operate an active Partnership program. It explains DC Medicaid - administered by the District of Columbia Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF) - and the District's unfair trade practices law (D.C. Code § 31-2231.01 et seq.) (D.C. Code § 31-2231.01 et seq.) with the District of Columbia Department of Insurance, Securities and Banking (DISB) discipline (D.C.
