Course purpose
Idaho's one-time annuity training a producer must complete before selling, soliciting, or negotiating annuities. It teaches the best-interest standard (Idaho Code §§ 41-1940A through 41-1940E (producer training at § 41-1940C), adopting the NAIC 2020 best-interest standard, effective July 1, 2021) and its four obligations - care, disclosure, conflict of interest, and documentation - plus annuity types and classifications, the parties to an annuity, product features, the income taxation of qualified and non-qualified annuities, the primary uses of annuities, and appropriate standards of conduct, sales practices, replacement, and disclosure, with the Idaho Trade Practices and Frauds law (Idaho Code Title 41, Chapter 13; unfair claim settlement practices § 41-1329) (Idaho Code Title 41, Chapter 13) and the Idaho Department of Insurance discipline (Idaho Code Title 41, Chapter 10) - with lesson knowledge checks, a final exam, a certificate, and CE reporting.
