Course purpose
Nebraska's initial long-term care producer training required before soliciting, selling, or negotiating long-term care insurance (Neb. Rev. Stat. § 44-4521). It teaches LTC fundamentals and benefit design; the federal tax-qualified standard; suitability, underwriting, inflation protection, and replacement; and the required training topics, including the Nebraska Long-Term Care Insurance Partnership Program and its dollar-for-dollar Medicaid asset disregard. It explains Nebraska Medicaid — administered by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Division of Medicaid & Long-Term Care — and the Partnership's relationship to Medicaid eligibility; and the Unfair Insurance Trade Practices Act (Neb. Rev. Stat. §§ 44-1521 to 44-1535) with Nebraska Department of Insurance discipline (Neb. Rev. Stat. §§ 44-4047 et seq.). Lesson knowledge checks, a final exam, a certificate, and CE reported to the Department through SBS. Delivered as a bilingual online 8-hour course.
