Course purpose
Bilingual online 8-hour course satisfying New Mexico's initial long-term care producer training required by 13.4.7.10.C NMAC before transacting long-term care insurance. It teaches LTC fundamentals and benefit design, the tax-qualified standard of IRC § 7702B, inflation protection and nonforfeiture, suitability, underwriting and replacement, and the consumer protections of New Mexico's long-term care law (NMSA 1978, Chapter 59A, Article 23A; 13.10.15 NMAC). The New Mexico portion covers the New Mexico Qualified State Long-Term Care Insurance Partnership Program (NMSA 1978 § 59A-23A-12 and § 27-2-12.17; producer disclosure duty § 59A-23A-13), the dollar-for-dollar Medicaid asset disregard, New Mexico Medicaid ('Turquoise Care') administered by the New Mexico Health Care Authority (HCA), the five-year look-back and IRC § 1035 exchanges, the Trade Practices and Frauds article (NMSA 1978 § 59A-16), OSI discipline under Article 11 (§ 59A-11-14), senior protection, and the NAIC LTC Model framework - with lesson knowledge checks, a final exam, a certificate, and CE reported to the OSI through the provider. Per 13.4.7.10.C NMAC the training is not insurer- or product-specific and includes no sales or marketing content.
Acceptance responsibility
There is no single national approval body for this type of education course. If a court, officer, employer, school, or agency assigned the course, confirm that they accept an online certificate course before paying or relying on completion.
