Course purpose
Bilingual online 3-hour South Carolina insurance producer ethics CE — the ethics requirement of South Carolina's 24-hour, two-year producer CE (S.C. Code Regs. § 69-50 (S.C. Code Ann. § 38-43-106)). It covers the producer's fiduciary duty and standard of conduct; the South Carolina Trade Practices law (S.C. Code Ann. §§ 38-57-10 et seq.) (misrepresentation, twisting, rebating, and unfair claim settlement); the annuity best-interest standard and its four obligations (S.C. Code Regs. § 69-29, the 2020 NAIC Suitability in Annuity Transactions Model Regulation effective May 27, 2022 (applying to recommendations on or after November 27, 2022)); replacement, suitability, privacy, and conflicts of interest; insurance fraud; and the South Carolina Department of Insurance producer licensing and discipline framework (S.C. Code Ann. Title 38, ch. 43; § 38-43-130) — with lesson knowledge checks, a final exam, a certificate, and CE reported to the Department through SBS.
