Course purpose
South Dakota's ongoing long-term care producer training — the 4 hours of LTC training required in each renewal period after the 8-hour initial training (ARSD art. 20:06). It reviews LTC policy provisions and consumer protections, inflation protection and nonforfeiture, suitability and replacement, and the federal-state Partnership framework — then the South Dakota Long-Term Care Partnership Program, the dollar-for-dollar asset disregard, and South Dakota Medicaid (administered by the South Dakota Department of Social Services, DSS), with the Unfair Trade Practices of SDCL ch. 58-33 and South Dakota Division of Insurance discipline (SDCL ch. 58-30) — with lesson knowledge checks, a final exam, a certificate, and CE reported to the Division through SBS. Delivered as a bilingual online 4-hour course.
