Course purpose
Vermont's ongoing long-term care producer training - the 4 hours of LTC training required in each 24-month period after the initial training (DFR Rule H-2009-01 / 8 V.S.A. ch. 107). It reviews LTC policy provisions and consumer protections, inflation protection and nonforfeiture, suitability and replacement, and the LTC-Medicaid relationship - then Vermont Medicaid eligibility and estate recovery for long-term care, and Vermont Medicaid (administered by the Department of Vermont Health Access (DVHA) (Vermont Medicaid is also known as Green Mountain Care; its long-term-care component is Choices for Care)), with the unfair trade practices law (8 V.S.A. §§ 4723-4724 (Insurance Trade Practices)) and producer discipline (8 V.S.A. § 4804 (Chapter 131)) - with lesson knowledge checks, a final exam, a certificate, and CE reported to Vermont Department of Financial Regulation through Prometric / Sircon.
