Idaho Insurance Producer Ethics CE: 3-Hour State-Approved Bilingual Course

Idaho-licensed insurance producers must complete 24 hours of continuing education per two-year period, and at least 3 of those hours must be ethics, under Idaho Code § 41-1013 and IDAPA 18.06.04. The Idaho Department of Insurance, headed by the Director, sets and enforces this requirement and acts on producer licensing and discipline under Idaho Code Title 41, Chapter 10.

The ethics hours are not a formality. Idaho treats the producer as a fiduciary who owes good faith, honesty, and fair dealing to applicants, policyholders, the insurer, and the public, and the Director can deny, suspend, revoke, or refuse to renew a license under Idaho Code § 41-1016 for grounds such as misappropriation, misrepresentation, fraud, or untrustworthiness. A focused ethics course is where producers learn exactly where those lines are.

National Course Portal's Idaho Insurance Producer Ethics CE - 3 Hours is approved by the Idaho Department of Insurance as Course #6000220277 (ETH-3), effective 06/24/2026, for 3 ethics credit hours. It is a self-study online course delivered as six lessons across 180 minutes, with lesson knowledge checks, a final exam, a certificate of completion, and CE reporting.

The course teaches the producer's fiduciary duty and standard of conduct, including the requirement to hold premium funds in trust without commingling. It covers Idaho's Trade Practices and Frauds law (Idaho Code Title 41, Chapter 13) - misrepresentation, false advertising, twisting, rebating, and unfair claim settlement practices under Idaho Code § 41-1329 - and the annuity best-interest standard with its four obligations of care, disclosure, conflict of interest, and documentation (Idaho Code § 41-1940C). It closes with suitability, senior protection, privacy under Gramm-Leach-Bliley, conflicts of interest, insurance fraud, and how the Department licenses and disciplines producers.

This is the only fully bilingual English/Spanish Idaho insurance ethics CE option. Every lesson, knowledge check, and exam item is built in both English and Spanish, so Spanish-speaking producers can study the regulatory material in the language they think in rather than translating dense statutory text on the fly.

That matters most in an ethics course, where the difference between a lawful, documented annuity replacement and prohibited twisting can turn on a single disclosure. Studying the rule in your strongest language reduces the chance of a misunderstanding that later becomes a disciplinary problem.
