Terms of Use

These terms describe the basic rules for using National Course Portal and its public course, student-support, and certificate tools.

Last updated: May 12, 2026

Using the site

National Course Portal provides public course information, enrollment paths, certificate tools, and student-support resources for selected course types and states.

By using the site, you agree to use it lawfully and only for your own course, support, or verification needs unless we give you separate written permission.

By accepting these terms, you represent that you are at least 18 years old, or that you are at least 13 years old and have the consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these terms on your behalf.

Accounts and course access

When a course offers account access, each student must use truthful information and maintain control of their own password or connected Google sign-in.

Course rules, timing rules, exam rules, certificate rules, and refund rules may vary by course and state. State-specific pages and disclosures control when they apply.

Payments and refunds

Pricing, payment options, fee-relief policies, and any available price-match process are described on the relevant course pages.

Refund availability can depend on the course type, the state, whether access was granted, and whether any required progress or certificate activity has already occurred.

Intellectual property

The site design, written content, course materials, pricing pages, public certificate pages, and related materials are protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws unless otherwise stated.

You may view or print materials for personal, non-commercial course use. You may not copy, republish, scrape, sell, redistribute, or create derivative materials from the site or course content without prior written permission.

Availability and updates

Course availability can change by state, approval status, operational readiness, or regulatory requirements.

We may update site content, pricing, and public pages from time to time. Continued use of the site after updates means you accept the revised terms.

Limitation of liability

National Course Portal and its affiliates provide the site, courses, and related services on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of the site is limited to the total fees you paid us in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including lost profits, data loss, course-enrollment delays, missed court deadlines, missed DMV deadlines, license or insurance consequences, custody or family-law consequences, employment consequences, or any other damages arising from reliance on course completion or certificate issuance, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

We are not liable for any action, inaction, or decision by any court, judge, probation officer, employer, school, insurance company, DMV, government agency, or other third party regarding the acceptance, rejection, or interpretation of a certificate or course completion issued through this platform.

Course types and scope

National Course Portal offers or may offer several course categories, including but not limited to: driver improvement courses, parent education and family stabilization courses, anger management education, boating safety courses, and other educational or certificate courses as they become available.

Each course type is governed by the specific rules, approval requirements, and limitations that apply to it. Driver improvement courses are governed by state DMV or motor-vehicle-agency rules. Parent education courses are governed by state court, judicial, or child-welfare-agency rules. Anger management courses are general educational courses and are not therapy, clinical treatment, crisis care, substance-use treatment, DUI treatment, domestic-violence treatment, or batterer-intervention programming. Boating safety courses are governed by applicable state wildlife, natural-resources, or boating-agency rules and NASBLA standards where applicable.

Disclaimer

Completing a course through National Course Portal does not guarantee acceptance by any court, probation officer, employer, insurance company, government agency, school, military branch, or any other entity. Students are responsible for confirming that the specific course they enroll in satisfies the requirement for which they need it before purchase or reliance on the certificate.

National Course Portal does not provide legal advice, therapeutic advice, medical advice, clinical diagnosis, insurance advice, or employment advice. No content on this site establishes a therapist-client, attorney-client, or physician-patient relationship. If you have questions about whether a course satisfies a court order, traffic citation requirement, custody or family-law requirement, probation condition, employer mandate, or insurance mandate, consult the issuing authority or your own legal counsel directly.

Anger management courses offered through this platform are educational in nature. They are not substitutes for licensed therapy, court-ordered batterer-intervention programs, domestic-violence treatment, substance-use treatment, DUI programs, or crisis services. If you are in immediate danger, contact emergency services or an appropriate crisis-support resource immediately.

Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.

Except to the extent a dispute must be resolved in arbitration under these terms, any court proceeding relating to these terms or your use of the site must be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

Dispute resolution

Before filing a formal dispute, you agree to contact us at admin@nationalcourseportal.com and attempt to resolve the matter informally for at least thirty (30) days.

If informal resolution is not reached, then, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, any dispute shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered under the rules of the American Arbitration Association. Either party may ask a court of competent jurisdiction for temporary injunctive relief or for an order compelling arbitration. You waive any right to participate in a class action, class arbitration, or representative proceeding.

You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending written notice to admin@nationalcourseportal.com within thirty (30) days of first accepting these terms.

Account termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your account if we reasonably believe you violated these terms, provided false identity information, engaged in fraud, misused the platform, or created risk for other users, the platform, or our regulatory standing.

Where practicable and except when immediate action is reasonably necessary for fraud prevention, security, abuse prevention, or legal compliance, we may provide notice and an opportunity to cure before termination. You may ask for review of a termination decision by emailing admin@nationalcourseportal.com.

Upon termination, your right to access course materials and certificates through the site ceases, subject to any rights that must continue under applicable law or state-specific course rules. Certificates already issued remain subject to the governing state or provider rules that apply to them.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Driver Course Platform LLC (d/b/a National Course Portal and all related brands), its owners, officers, directors, employees, contractors, instructors, course designers, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your breach of these terms; (b) your use of the course or site for unlawful purposes; (c) your violation of any court order, regulatory requirement, or third-party right; (d) any information you provide that is false, misleading, or inaccurate; (e) your reliance on course completion or a certificate for a purpose for which it was not accepted or approved; or (f) any dispute with a third party (including courts, employers, agencies, or insurers) regarding the acceptance or sufficiency of a course or certificate obtained through this platform.

Force majeure

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations under these terms due to events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, acts of war or terrorism, governmental action, cyberattacks, power outages, pandemics, or internet service disruptions, provided we resume performance as soon as reasonably feasible after the event subsides.

Severability

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction or arbitrator, that provision shall be severed or modified to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

Assignment

We may assign our rights and obligations under these terms to any successor, acquirer, or affiliate without prior notice to you. You may not assign or transfer your rights or obligations under these terms without our prior written consent.

Non-discrimination

We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity in enrollment, course access, certificate issuance, or any other aspect of service. All participants who meet the published course requirements receive equal access.

Entire agreement

These terms, together with the applicable state-specific course disclosures, privacy policy, refund policy, and accessibility statement, constitute the entire agreement between you and Driver Course Platform LLC d/b/a National Course Portal regarding your use of the site and courses.
