New York infection control and barrier precautions

New York Infection Control and Barrier Precautions Training

Mandatory infection control and barrier precautions coursework for New York licensed professionals under Public Health Law Section 239 and Education Law Section 6505-b, covering all seven NYSED-required elements in English and Spanish.

Students and licensees

Who the course is for

The course serves the New York professions required to complete approved infection control coursework at licensure and every four years thereafter - physicians, physician assistants, and specialist assistants under PHL 239, and dentists, dental hygienists, licensed practical nurses, optometrists, podiatrists, registered professional nurses, and athletic trainers under Education Law 6505-b. Until approval is issued, licensees should complete a currently NYSED-approved provider's course.

Certificate workflow

Certificate issued only after approval and completion

After NYSED approval and enrollment opening, a licensee who completes all seven elements, active time, interactive knowledge checks, and a passing final test would receive a completion certificate carrying the participant name, completion date, the NYS-approved provider name and provider ID, and the provider signature, issued within 21 days as required for approved infection control providers.
